Here at Sussex Lighting Repairs our expert team will always work to the highest standards using UK spares wherever possible. Although most lights repaired, converted and reconditioned fall outside the IEC 60598-1:2014+A1:2017 Luminaires Safety Standard – as they are not new products - we will still follow the same safety standards and recommendations when possible. Sometimes antique lighting has a design peculiarity relevant to when it was originally made so will not always comply with the strict 21st Century standards.
If a light is considered unsafe and cannot be rectified, we will not continue with or charge for a repair. In most cases the light can be rewired and retested for electrical safety (PAT tested) thus providing you with a safe and working light that will continue to give you many more years of usage.
